Calling Volunteers!!!

Hello Seventh District Rec Council participants,

First off, I want to thank each of you for supporting the Seventh District Rec Council over the years. We love serving our community and providing rec program opportunities for both adults and children. In order to keep our current programs going, we need to fill our open Board positions.

We are seeking nominations through the month of May and will be presented and voted on during our June 7th meeting. Our next monthly meeting is Wednesday May 3rd from 7:30 - 8:30pm at Seventh District Elementary School in the rec room.

The Seventh District Rec Council is looking for some volunteers who want to support our board positions and open chairperson positions. If you're interested in volunteering for any of the following opportunities, please reach out to us directly.

Vice President (Board Position)
Responsibilities would include:
• Attend monthly Rec Council meetings
• Assists the President in the general supervision of the Council.
• Supports Program Chairpersons throughout the year
• Assist with annual financial audit of the Council

Secretary (Board Position)
Responsibilities would include:
• Attend monthly Rec Council meetings and keep minutes
• Keep records of attendance, voting eligibility, and background checks
• Serve as our social media contact for our Facebook page.

Treasurer (Board Position)
We have shifted our bookkeeping from Excel spreadsheet to Online Quickbooks application. We also have support from our accountant that takes care of tax filings based off of our bookkeeping. The majority of our registration process is handled online via our website.

Responsibilities would include:
• Attend monthly Rec Council meetings and present the monthly Treasury report
• Receives, safely keeps, disperses, and supervises all financial aspects for the council.
• Maintains and presents a financial statement at each monthly Council meeting of income and expenses records for each program and general fund.
• Prepares financial statements for the tax accountant for annual filings.

Open Program Chair Positions: Each of our programs have a chair and/or co-chair assigned to lead the program. Without them, we would not be able to offer our programs to the community. We have several current openings/opportunities:

• Adult Softball - Open after this upcoming season

• Bat Sports (T-ball and Baseball) - Co-Chair open position

• Concession Stand - This could be an individual or potentially a local club/organization that would like to run the stand during our sporting events to raise money for their club/organization.
