Seventh District Recreation Council

Welcome to 7th District Bat Sports!

LET'S PLAY BALL!

Thank you for visiting the 7th District Bat Sports Program page!

We look forward to another great season in 2020 and providing the young athletes of 7th District with a fun, safe and rewarding experience. We offer three (3) leagues (Baseball, Softball and Tee Ball) and divisions (based on age) so that we can provide a competitive and fun recreational experience from Pre-K through early High School.

Important Info for the 2020 Season

Official Little League Rules

Starting for the 2020 Bat Sports Season, we are shifting to Official Little League Rules & Regulations. This decision was coordinated with our neighboring districts for the following reasons:

  1. Promotes inter-league play with more recreational baseball programs.
  2. Includes a well established and vetted rulebook.*
  3. Shifts registration from grade-based to age-based.**
  4. Provides an opportunity to build All-Star teams that can compete at regional and even national levels.
* For the 2020 season, we have chosen to provide a grace period for the use of non-USA certified bats. In 2021, all bats must comply with Little League rules - Bats must be USA certified. For more information on the USA standard bats program, click HERE.

** Players may choose to PLAY UP from their current age bracket. However, the council and coaches reserve the right to transfer a player back to their appropriate age group if their skills are not at a sufficient level to compete with older players. This determination will be made with player safety and quality of experience in mind.

Recreation Softball

Starting for the 2020, all Softball registration will be combined under a single district. Players will no longer register under their respective Recreation Councils. During registration, players will be asked to report their district. This information will be used to build teams across all districts. More information to come.

Important Information for Parents/Guardians

The recreation council is a fully operated through volunteerism. Chairs, coaches, assistant coaches, etc. all perform these duties through a love of the sport, and a love of our district's children. Please keep in mind that during practices and games, our coaches are doing their very best to keep all players challenged, engaged, and most importantly... SAFE. However, it is every parent/guardian's duty to ensure their own child's safety especially those who are not on the team, but are attending for a friend or sibling. Children (players and non-players) should not be left unattended at any time during practices, games, or other league events. Please understand this policy prior to registering your players. This policy is for the safety of all league participants. Some general guidelines:

  • Parents/Guardians must stay for all practices/games. No drop-offs unless discussed and cleared with coaches.
  • Keep all non-players off of the field and away from dugout/bench areas.
  • Keep smaller children behind fencing to avoid being hit with balls.
  • Keep an eye on the activities on the field so you can react if a ball is hit in your direction.

Special Events

More information to come.

Player/Team Assignment

However, the Council reserves the right to override player placement requests to ensure fair/competitive teams. Based on overall registration numbers between the four programs (5th District, Sparks, Prettyboy, and 7th District), combined teams may be formed with players from more than one recreation council in order to field enough teams in a given age bracket.

Field Availability & Scheduling

All practices for all leagues will be held at 7th District Elementary School. Season games will be played at 7th District, 5th District, Prettyboy, and Sparks Elementary. While practices can continue throughout the regular season, they will need to be coordinated with games in order to avoid conflict. Scheduled games will always override a scheduled practice.
